  1. I worked for Financial Institution Services Inc. (FISI) in the 80’s (my father was one of the 7 founders). It was a great company with a “white hat” reputation until we were bought by CUC International and merged with Madison Financial to become Fisi-Madison. Things didn’t smell right from the beginning, so I resigned and sold all my stock options.

Cendant bought CUC some time after that. The stock SKY-ROCKETED over the next decade until, among other things, the boys got caught cooking the books (pre Enron). I think the top three went to prison and heavily fined.

My family didn’t heed my warnings to divest of Cendant stock, but by the time the accounting fraud was uncovered, everyone had made enough over the decade to absorb the correction.

Fisi-Madison changed their name to Progeny somewhere along the way, and then again to Affinion. Four names in four decades, but they still are partnered with thousands of financial institutions in the U.S. alone.

What’s even more absurd is that they are “endorsed” by many banking associations including the TBA here in Tennessee and the American Bankers Association (ABA) as of today!

  2. Thanks for your post. I just booked a flight through Allegiant and got the rebate pop up for Good Fun. The representative spoke very quickly, and I stopped her multiple times for clarification, and I ended up telling her that I wanted to check things out before I made a decision. You are right. It is no rebate. It’s a gamble.

  3. Well… I am sad to say I fell for this scam and have not been billed yet, but just got a weird feeling I should look into it. I called the number that luckily I wrote down even though when I asked for it, she said “it will be in your email packet” I never got any emails at all! Anyways, I called the number and its obviously fake! Now I have no idea how to get a hold of anyone to cancel my membership in this scam company!!! I have been on hold with Allegiant for 30 mins and dont even know if they can do anything since it is through Great Fun. Anyone know how I can get a hold of Great Fun so I can cancel this before they start charging me?! 😦 I cant believe I did this!
